Documentary Projects: Dr. Bob Paeglow-Albany,NY

I first met Dr. Bob Paeglow at the Engeye Health Clinic in Uganda. Within a few days, it became quite clear that I was in the presence of a truly remarkable man. Dr. Bob has led over 25 medical missions and has saved countless lives...from post-war Mozambique in 1994 to Northern Uganda in July, 2009.

In 2000, Dr. Bob returned to his old West Hill neighborhood, which had degenerated, into the poorest, most crime-infested, desperate neighborhood in the city of Albany. Selling the family home and investing everything, Bob and his wife Leane moved into the inner city and founded Compassion in Action/Koinonia Primary Care located at the Capital Region Prayer and Healing Center. Koinonia provides primary care and mental health care to the poor in the West Hill neighborhood and beyond. Dr. Bob has worked for 5 years without a salary to make this care possible.

This series of images were taken in April, 2009 in Albany, NY where Dr. Bob and his family run Compassion in Action/Koinonia Primary Care, a free clinic providing much needed medical care to the residents of his West Hill neighborhood, where he was born and raised.
